How to Make the Most of Your Pilates & Barre Membership

Joining Redlands Barre is an investment in yourself and like any investment, the more consistently you show up, the more you’ll get out of it. Whether you’re just getting started or you’ve been taking classes for a while, building a routine that works for your body and your lifestyle is the key to long-term results. Here are a few ways to make the most of your membership and feel stronger, more confident, and more connected every time you walk into the studio.

1. Schedule Your Classes Like Any Other Appointment

Life gets busy. Between work, family, errands, and everything in between, it’s easy for workouts to become an afterthought. One of the simplest ways to stay consistent is to schedule your classes at the beginning of each week. Treat them like an important meeting or doctor’s appointment, because taking care of yourself deserves a place on your calendar, too. Even if your schedule changes, having a plan makes it much more likely you’ll follow through.

2. Focus on Consistency

You don’t have to take class every day to see results. For many people, attending two to four classes each week creates a sustainable routine that builds strength, improves mobility, and supports long-term wellness. Some weeks you’ll make every class. Other weeks life will get in the way, and that’s okay. Progress comes from showing up consistently over time, not from being perfect.

3. Explore Different Class Styles

One of the best parts of your membership is the opportunity to experience a variety of classes, each designed to support your body in a different way. Mixing up your routine can keep movement enjoyable while helping you build strength, mobility, and confidence over time. Give Barre a try one day, Mat Pilates another, and later try out Reformer Pilates! This is a great way to avoid boredom and keep your practice exciting and challenging. No matter which class you choose, each one complements the others, creating a well-rounded movement practice that supports your body for the long term.

4. Find the Right Class for Where You Are Today

Progress doesn’t happen by jumping into the hardest class… that’s called “an injury just waiting to happen.” First, it’s important to build a strong foundation. That’s why we offer classes designed to meet you wherever you are in your fitness journey.

Essentials- If you’re new to Pilates, returning after a break, or simply want to refine your technique, Essentials is the perfect place to start. These classes focus on movement patterns, proper muscle engagement, and building confidence with every session.

Signature- Our Signature classes are the heart of our schedule and are designed for everybody. With options to modify or increase the challenge, they’re ideal for building a consistent routine while continuing to grow stronger.

Elevate- Once you’re comfortable with the fundamentals, Elevate classes offer more advanced variations to further challenge your strength, coordination, and control. For Reformer Elevate classes, we recommend completing at least 10 Reformer classes first to help ensure a safe and successful transition.

5. Introduce Yourself to Your Instructors

Your instructors are there to support you, not just teach class! If you’re recovering from an injury, pregnant, returning to exercise, or simply unsure about a movement, let them know before class begins. The more they understand your goals and where you’re at, the better they can offer modifications and help you move safely and confidently.

6. Listen to Your Body

Every class doesn’t have to be your hardest class. Some days you’ll feel energized and ready for a challenge. Other days your body may need more rest, lighter resistance, or additional modifications. Learning to adjust your workout based on how you’re feeling isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s actually a part of building a lifelong movement practice.

7. Prioritize Recovery

The work doesn’t stop when class ends. Recovery plays an important role in helping your body rebuild and get stronger. Drink plenty of water, eat a balanced meal with protein and carbohydrates, get enough sleep, and consider light stretching or walking on your rest days. Taking care of your body between classes helps you come back feeling refreshed and ready to keep moving.

8. Celebrate More Than Physical Changes

It’s easy to focus on the number on the scale. But some of the biggest wins happen long before your clothes fit differently. Maybe carrying groceries feels easier or your posture has improved. Maybe you’re sleeping better, feeling more energized, or simply looking forward to class each week. Those changes are important too!

9. Lean Into the Community

One of the best parts of joining our studio isn’t just the classes, it’s the people! Say hello before class, chat and make friends! Celebrate milestones with other members. Ask questions. Invite a friend. Having a supportive community can make your wellness routine more enjoyable and help you stay motivated over the long term.

The Key

Your membership is more than access to classes, it’s an opportunity to invest in your health, your confidence, and your well-being. The goal isn’t perfection, it’s to keep showing up for yourself, one class at a time.
